Dr Greg Mills is the director of the Johannesburg-based Brenthurst Foundation. He was educated at the Universities of Cape Town (BA and BA Hons) and Lancaster (MA and PhD)

During a career of research spanning 40 African countries, he has emerged as a foremost analyst of economic and political development on the African continent.

Mills will discuss why elites profit from poverty and exploit aid. In his new book, he lays out a clear strategy to achieve a better future.

He will take questions.

His new book “Expensive Poverty: Why Aid Fails and How It Can Work” will be available at the function.
