Regan Thaw @ The Wild Fig

Senior Eyewitness news reporter Regan Thaw will on Tuesday July 6, 2010 address the Cape Town Press Club.

Regan has recently returned from covering the conflict in the Middle East where he was stationed along the border with Gaza and can deliver first hand accounts of the pressures which working journalists face in areas such as the Middle East. These pressures are also visible in South Africa, where strict limitations are imposed by organizers of major events (such as FIFA and the 2010 FIFA World Cup) on members of the media. What do these restrictions mean for freedom of the press?

Regan will take questions.
