OUTA CEO Wayne Duvenage on undoing state capture.

Former CEO of Avis, Wayne Duvenage, would not have dreamt a decade ago that today he would be the head of a robust civil society movement. What started off as a part-time campaign against SANRAL's e-tolls proposal has now become a tenacious civil rights organisation fighting corruption and tax abuse. OUTA (Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse) has taken on, among others, Jacob Zuma, the Guptas, the Bank of Baroda, SAA, SABC, Eskom and the nuclear deal, and recently Cape Town’s drought levy.

OUTA CEO Wayne Duvenage will address the Cape Town Press Club on recent court successes and how civil society is holding the government to account. He will also explain how state capture happens in our state-owned enterprises. He will take questions.

Working journalists are welcome to attend for free if they do not want the meal. There will be the opportunity to put questions to the speaker. If one-on-one interviews are desired, please let us know in advance and we will inform the speaker and do our best to secure it.
